Bristol video rental shops transforms into tiny mini cinema - Daily Mail
20th Century Flicks in Bristol (pictured exterior inset) is still open despite the rise of on-demand websites like Netflix and Amazon Prime killing most rental shops off. The tiny store is home to one of Britain's largest film collections with 20,000 titles on the shelves. Last year it only made £160 profit after wages, but now owner David Taylor, 38 (pictured) has found a new way to boost business. Using his amateur carpentry skills, he has turned the shop into a micro-cinema with 18 seats (pictured main). Mr Taylor says the venture will act 'like a jukebox' with customers able to choose which DVD they want to watch and select their two-hour slot.

2. PRIVATE AUDITORIUM RENTALS:

3. PUBLIC SCREENING RENTALS
If you wish to show a film to the public as an individual, business, or organization, you can do that too!
Public screening rentals can include, but are not limited to:
Fundraisers
Community Awareness
Community Organizing/Outreach
Client Appreciation
You can choose any film you'd like to show, however, any film that is being shown in a public setting and/or advertised (for free or otherwise) by your business or organization requires a film license, or for smaller films, licensing/permission from the filmmaker directly, per copyright laws. Depending on the film and distributor, licensing fees generally range anywhere from $200-$500 ($250 is the most common fee). This must be obtained by the individual, business, or organization putting on the event.

THEATER RENTAL OPTIONS

1. PRIVATE SCREENINGS (CURRENT FILMS)
The Grand Cinema is excited to offer private screenings for almost any film currently playing!
Weekday mornings: We can accommodate Monday-Friday only (while the theater is closed) with a 4-ticket ($40) purchase minimum and $10 for each additional guest.
Afternoon/evenings: We can accommodate private screenings in the afternoon and evening times with a 40-ticket ($400) purchase minimum and $10 for each additional guest.
This gives you an opportunity to invite your closest friends and/or family to watch any currently-playing movie in a private setting at the Grand Cinema! We can also customize the screening based on your group's needs: lights, volume, captions, etc.
Please email rentals@grandcinema.com to set up a private screening. Be sure to include the film title, requested date and time, and any additional information we need to know.
2. PRIVATE AUDITORIUM RENTALS:
Rent an auditorium for a friends and family private screening, video gaming, run a meeting, or work on a multimedia project!
